Catering
At Dauntsey's, great care is taken to provide pupils with a nutritionally sound and balanced diet that is tasty, fresh and appealing. The Catering Department sources locally and organically where possible, continually building on well-established relationships with local farmers. A stringent GM free policy is also in place.
Over 1,700 meals are served each day in the dining Hall and there is a wide choice of food at every meal time, breakfasts are varied daily and hot and cold drinks are available thoughout the day. the smell of freshly-baked cakes wafts through the School each afternoon, making tea a popular and lively afternoon break.
A balanced lunch and supper menu means there is a choice of two hot courses, with a vegetarian option always available. An extensive daily salad bar offers between 20-30 different options with freshly-baked potatoes. Homemade soups, traditional hot and cold desserts, fresh fruit and west country yoghurts and cheeses are available each lunchtime and evening.
The School Catering Department liaises closely with pupils who are that their views are heard and acted upon, as they contribute greatly to the weekly menus.
Each boarding house has a small kitchen for pupils to use and the senior day houses are also equiped with facilities to make hot drinks and toast. Confectionery, crisps and snacks can be found in the Tuck Shop which is open at break times and weekends.
