Charitable Giving
The Dauntsey's School Charity Committee has existed in its current form since 1995, and Dauntsey's is justifiably proud of the great work and the large amounts raised by its pupils ever since. Every September, the entire School community (including pupils, staff and domestic staff) votes to adopt a charity for the academic year, with national and international charities being considered on alternate years. A dedicated Charity Committee (consisting of elected pupil representatives from each House) and staff then facilitate the numerous activities that take place throughout the year to raise funds for the chosen charity.
From the smallest scale events such as cake sales to the larger fundraisers (paddling 125 miles from Devizes to Westminster, mufti days, Christmas Card sales, staff revues and more), the imaginative fundraising activities within the School provide a positive focus and opportunity for pupils to come together for a common purpose. Since 2000, Dauntsey's pupils and staff have raised over £180,000 (see below).
Our charity for 2011 - 2012 is Mustard Seed Project.
