For over 100 years, Dauntsey’s has encouraged, and facilitated, its pupils to provide a service to the community in which we live. This is not only important in our ethos of being an active and integrated part of our local community, but it also recognizes the importance of the development of individual integrity and develops a strong sense of community awareness with goodwill towards others.
Dauntsey’s Voluntary Service Unit (VSU) is a scheme which enables Sixth Form volunteers to help in the local community. A range of placements are available from local Primary and Infant schools, Retirement Homes, Devizes Library and local Charity shops. The scope of tasks undertaken by volunteers varies between placements but could involve art activities and reading at primary schools, playing board games with the elderly or sorting through stock and arranging displays in charity shops.
