Ethos

A co-educational, family school with a Christian ethos: we hope to provide a friendly, happy and supportive atmosphere where staff and pupils have every opportunity to fulfil their potential and to achieve their aspirations, both academic and otherwise. The School encourages independent minds, a desire for individual achievement and seeks to foster spirituality, social responsibility and moral values.

Our Aims

To maintain the School's strong academic profile by providing a balanced, progressive and innovative curriculum delivered by a talented and committed teaching staff.
To challenge all pupils, not least the brightest, by fostering intellectual curiosity through academic enrichment, independent learning and a complementary curriculum.
To promote and develop an awareness of our cultural heritage and an understanding of the Arts.
To enrich further the learning experience by the continued investment in, and imaginative use of, modern technology, including ICT.
To promote the sharing of good practice within and across departments.
To enhance further professional development with particular emphasis on the role of the middle manager.
To maintain the School's strong commitment to boarding.
To maintain the strength of the School's pastoral care within a diverse and inclusive community.
To provide a range of opportunities for pupils to become flexible thinkers, as well as confident, articulate and tolerant people, and to develop a sense of responsibility and high personal standards and thus prepare them to take their place in the modern world.

To develop the role of the Foundation Office by strengthening links with Old Dauntseians, past and present parents, and friends of the School.
