DAUNTSEY’S EXPEDITION AND MOUNTAINEERING SOCIETY (DEAMS)
DEAMS was founded in 2003. At the inaugural meeting Dave Pearce gave an awe-inspiring account of his ascent of Everest in May 2003 with the RN/RM North East Ridge Expedition. Since then DEAMS has successfully completed 11 expeditions and Dave himself has joined us on three as leader. Rob Pitt, of ‘ia-coaching’, is our professionally qualified instructor and consultant; other instructors/leaders are employed as required. The aim of the Society is to organise expeditions for all age groups at home and abroad. Pupils volunteer to join an expedition and are introduced to the skills and knowledge required and to gain an understanding and appreciation of the environment and ecology of the area.
