Welcome to I.C.T.

Technical Support: B T Roberts, M. O. Braby, G. House, J. Thompson

ICT is currently taught as an independent subject in years 7 and 8 and 9 supported by cross-curricular work initiated by other departments. The aim is to ensure that all pupils are able to use computers and related technologies effectively as a tool to support their own learning by the time they reach year 9.

ICT is used across the curriculum to support pupils' learning. The facilities available to staff and pupils are extensive, and include some 300+ workstations connected to a distributed network. Filtered Internet access is available at all workstations through a leased line.

In the Upper School, ICT continues to be used to support students' learning across the curriculum. A significant number of pupils choose this subject as a GCSE in years 10 and 11 and further study of the subject is possible at AS and A2 (OCR Computing) in years 12 and 13.

With many new facilities both planned and in progress, this continues to be a rapidly developing and exciting area to be in. Watch this space!
