A brief description of the course followed in Year 9.

Year 9 students make a start on the AQA GCSE Biology course and cover several important sections from the Science B and Additional Science specifications. Details of these are shown below:

The teaching is supported by a textbook (Nelson-Thornes AQA Science GCSE Biology) that is specifically designed for this course. Practical work is included where possible as a preparation for the ‘How Science Works’ component which is examined in years 10 and 11.
