Scholarships
The Desmond Morris Science Scholarships

Desmond Morris (OD ’41–’45) is one of Britain’s leading and most popular anthropologists and zoologists. His varied and extensive career has spanned six decades and includes the production of numerous television series, the publication of over forty books, and twenty worldwide solo art exhibitions. His interest in the natural world was awakened through his membership of the Dauntsey’s Natural History Society and fostered by the inspirational teaching of the late Ian ‘Buttercup’ Hamilton.

These scholarships are awarded to candidates who have high academic ability, scientific insight and an interest in the application of science. Their interest in scientific matters should extend beyond the curriculum.

Candidates will take the scholarship examination in science and will have two interviews. One of the interviews will be of a practical nature; candidates will be expected to make observations and offer explanations and solutions.
