Scholarships and Boarding Awards

Academic Scholarships
Examinations Day: Wednesday 12th November 2008

These are open to all students who demonstrate excellence in their academic studies.
Students who apply for a Scholarship are asked to take three written papers (in November) in subjects of their choosing and have an academic interview. This is for day and boarding students.

Boarding Awards

These are open to students who demonstrate competence in their academic studies and who will make a significant contribution to the general life of the school. Applicants are given a more general interview in which they are asked about how they would take advantage of the available opportunities in the Sixth Form in the broadest sense. This is only for students who wish to board.

In either case, the student's school is asked for an indication that they will cope well at A level and perform well at GCSE. In both cases, if they wish, students may also have a specialist interview in Art, Design, Drama, Physical Education or Music, which will allow them to demonstrate their interest and skills in these areas.

Awards and scholarships vary in value from 10% to a maximum of 50% of fees.
