- Excellent academic results: 2007 has been a record year for both A level (84.6% As and Bs) and at GCSE (75.1% A* and A). In the last 2 years 22 pupils have moved on to either Oxford or Cambridge.
- In the last few years there have been major building developments and the school has outstanding facilities: a new Library and Study Centre, a five –studio Art School and a new Science Department. In the last 3 years we have invested £5 million into our boarding facilities: a new Senior Girls' Boarding House (all rooms en-suite) has opened, Fitzmaurice House has had an extra floor added and The Manor House (for our junior boarders) has been completely re-furbished. 70 pupils live at the Manor, which is set in 65 acres of woods and parkland and boasts its own 9-hole golf course, floodlit tennis and basketball courts and a mountain bike track.
- Among the School's special features are our excellent facilities for sport,
drama, music,
art
and adventure. We run about 70 clubs
and societies, everything from re-cycling and conservation to girls’ rugby club; Bee-keeping to Debating (at both Senior and Junior levels). Perhaps the best known additional activity is our ownership, maintenance and sailing of Jolie Brise, the famous gaff rigged cutter. All pupils spend 24 hours on board and those who then choose to join the Sailing Club have the opportunity to be part of our crews for the Tall Ships Race and the Round the Island Race in both of which Jolie Brise has been a regular winner; or to take part in the frequent holiday cruises to many exciting places.
