Cricket vs MCC
This year we were fortunate to choose a sunny spring day for the annual cricket match against the MCC; perfect conditions for players and spectators alike.
Before the match a small ceremony marked the opening of the enlarged and modernised cricket pavilion. The ribbon was cut by Lt. Col. Tim Lerwill, a long serving MCC committee member and manager of numerous MCC tours.
In the match itself, the School bowled tightly and fielded dynamically to keep the MCC score down to a respectable target of 237. Nick Hargreaves then scored a patient 93 as the School gradually edged close to a win. With 4 runs needed from the final over, Archie Harvey smote a boundary from the penultimate ball to secure an exciting victory by 4 wickets.
