Fourth Form Trips on the Jolie Brise
A new generation of Dauntsey’s pupils have been welcomed on board for their first taste of the sailing life.
During the Autumn Term, every pupil in the Fourth Form and all new Lower Sixth pupils experience an overnight stay on the Jolie Brise as part of our Adventure Education programme and to introduce them all to sailing.
For many Dauntseians this will be their first experience of sailing. Some may never wish to repeat the experience while for some it will be the start of a life-long passion for sailing. The important thing is that everyone will have had a go. ” - Toby Marris, Head of Sailing
From this experience the pupils can then decide to join the Dauntsey's Sailing Club, which is open to all pupils from Year 10 upwards and is run by Toby Marris, the School's full-time sailing master. Whilst pupils are fortunate to have the opportunity to sail in this famous ship, they earn that right only through their own efforts and involvement.
