Jolie Brise is Back

After a winter in dry-dock for repairs and a refit the Jolie Brise in now back in the water, ready for an action-packed sailing season ahead. This kicks off on Saturday with the School's Annual Sailing Club dinner at which the World Famous Yachtsman and Photographer, Rick Tomlinson will give a talk and a slideshow.

Rick has raced around the world in four Whitbread Round the World races including Drum with Duran Duran's lead singer Simon le Bon. He was also the official photographer for the two EF teams, the Volvo Around the World Ocean Race 2001/2002 and the GBR Challenge at the Americas Cup 2002/2003 in Auckland. In 2008/2009 Rick was again the official photographer for the Volvo Around the World Ocean Race. Rick has also extended his skills into expedition and project work in such places as Antarctica, Chile, Alaska and Africa. The photography alone should be worth coming to the dinner for.

The Season Ahead

Highlights for this year include cruises to France, the Channel Islands, the Scottish Western Isles and Denmark before Jolie Brise joins the Tall Ships fleet in Kristiansand, Norway at the end of July. From here she will race with the Tall Ships fleet to Hartlepool and then compete in the North Sea Tall Ships Regatta culminating in the world famous "Parade of Sail" in Amsterdam.
