General Reflections

Speaking to an audience in excess of 500, after a session with The Head Master's Essay Society, General Jackson gave a lively, engaging and compelling insight in the international situation Britain is facing in the 21st century. He argued that British government should continue to undertake its involvement in the international scene, seek to create and secure a stable Afghanistan and ensure that the military covenant is steadfastly upheld by the government. His arguments were greatly appreciated by the audience and he received much applause for his views and the Lecture generally.

Although this was the last Mercers' lecture for this term, the School is eagerly awaiting the lecture by Professor Germaine Greer on Friday, 5th February, entitled 'Forty Years of Feminism and Fun'. Tickets (£6) for Prof Greer's Lecture are available from Reception on 01380 814500.

It was well attended and the audience left very well informed.
