Dauntseys' raises over £18,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust

On Monday 5th October, Ms Lindsay Shearer, a representative from Teenage Cancer Trust, came to Dauntsey's to receive a cheque for the sum total of £18,573.37. This money was raised throughout the 2008-2009 academic year by pupils and staff of Dauntsey's, and it will be put to good use by the Trust who are planning a specialist Teenage Cancer Unit in Southampton, with work due begin in 2010.

The School's chosen charity for the 2009-2010 academic year is Nightingale's Children's Project in Cernavoda, Romania. Dauntsey's already has strong links with Nightingale's: for the last three years, some of our pupils have been on organised trips to Romania whereby they organise and run a summer programme of activities and events for the underprivileged children in Cernavoda.
