A LEVEL RESULTS 2010

Press Release - 6am, Thursday, 19th August 2010

Pupils celebrate spectacular results with almost 100 of the new A* grades and a record-breaking 88.4% of A*/A/B grades shared between the 133 candidates.

Pupils at Dauntsey’s School in Wiltshire will be celebrating record-breaking results when they receive their grades later this morning. Of 438 subjects sat, 88.4% were awarded A*/A or B grades – a new school record.

To gain the new tougher (and much publicised) A* grade, pupils had to achieve an overall A grade in any one subject, plus an average of over 90% in the harder A2 papers. Dauntsey’s pupils achieved a total of 98 A* grades, 22.4% of all entries. Leading the field with four A* grades apiece were Ewan Duffin, Tom Wilding and Monica Xie, closely followed by Tom Cannon, Ronald Ching, Frederick Green, Charlotte Halliday, Yushan Li and Teresa Zhang who each gained three A* grades.

Headmaster, Stewart Roberts, said that he was delighted to see such outstanding results and not least the huge number of A* grades which will safely see the great majority of pupils into their universities of first choice.
