Evensong in Mercers’ Hall
The Chamber Choir travelled to London to sing Evensong for the Worshipful Company of Mercers’ on Thursday 24 September.
The choir sang George Dyson’s Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis as well as the new addition to the repertoire, Rachmaninov’s setting of the Ave Maria from the All-Night Vigil. The singers responded well to the warm acoustics of the chapel, projecting high notes clearly in the Dyson as well as conveying the intimacy of the Rachmaninov.
The Mercers were glowing in their praise of the choir and we have been invited back for future events. Thank you to Mr Totney for his excellent organ playing and to the pupils and staff who performed and helped to organise the event.
