As well as our major sports this term of rugby and hockey the School runs a thriving extra-curricular programme which enables pupils to represent the School in a variety of other sports including swimming, cross-country running and horse riding.

The swimmers have had a successful term competing in seven fixtures.
Results have been good with 5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. The team also travelled to Millfield to compete in the South West School’s relay championships. A number of school records have been broken including individual records for Beatrice Watts, Angharad Harris, Karwyn Chan and Chris Prinsloo and the U15 girls have been in fine form taking several seconds off the previous times for their age group relays. Flossie Ball was selected to represent Wiltshire and both her and Ellen Hickin competed at the South West Regional Championships last month.

Dauntsey’s Equestrian team qualified two teams for the NSEA Championships, the team comprising of Amber Fletcher, Lauren Dallison, Ophelia Straker and Beth McNamara finished 4th out of 47 teams in the 90cm class. Dauntsey’s Inter Schools’ Equestrian Competition was held at the West Wilts Equestrian Centre in November. The school was well represented and fairly successful. Lily Mallinson was 5th individually in the 70cm class and in the 90cm class, our team won with Amber Fletcher the overall individual winner.

Cross-Country Running

Finally we once again had good representation at the Area Cross-Country trials and over 20 of our pupils will once again run in the County Championships in the New Year.

There have been rifle shooting, fencing, table-tennis and squash fixtures and it is great to see so many of our pupils given the opportunity to represent the School at a range of sports.
