Having to follow last year’s unbeaten 1st XV was a very tall order, but I am delighted to say that this year’s team have also enjoyed an outstanding season. A final record of 11 wins, 3 losses and a draw is genuinely excellent. They have worked hard, shown tremendous team spirit and Hamish Janes has been a genuinely inspirational captain, setting the very best of examples with his commitment and consistency.
The strength at the top end continues to stand out. The 2nd XV won 7 of their 10 matches, the 3rd XV had another unbeaten season winning all 6 of their matches. The Colts A team won 7, lost 1 and drew 1. The Under 15A team have worked hard throughout the term and have progressed through to the last 32 in the Nat West Vase and will play their next match in January.
Elsewhere, The Lower School teams continue to train hard and compete well. An Under 14C team has had a good season and the mixing of the First and Second Form has seen more games played for Junior A, B and C teams.
In total this term, 118 rugby matches have been played, with 68 wins, 45 losses and 5 draws.
