Table Tennis Team News

A team of seven Dauntsey’s pupils competed in the Wiltshire Table Tennis Association Junior and Cadet Ranking Event on Sunday.

All our competitors played with energy and enthusiasm, giving an excellent display of their talents. Will Sims played some exceptional games against strong opposition, confirming his status as the most improved player in the Devizes League. Constance Hung and Andrea Chan played superbly throughout the day and won many matches with their fine array of attacking shots. Felix Nagel, the current Wiltshire U14 champion, played with an aggressive, attacking style throughout the tournament and his consistency led to many victories against formidable opponents. Robert Herrett played with his usual skill and determination, never conceding defeat in some close matches, and his very tidy game resulted in great success. Andy Chan, a new Third Form boy from Hong Kong, played particularly well, demonstrating a keen competitive edge and variety of stylish shots, both on the forehand and backhand. He is certainly one to watch. Finally, very well done to Ollie Ring who, despite being in a tough group for the round-robin stage, played very well and demonstrated a real fighting spirit.

Thanks to Mr Sims and Mr Herrett for their support throughout the day.
