Middle School Music Competition provides a feast of musical talent.

On Wednesday 24 February, nine of our finest musicians in the Middle School competed for the prize of Middle School Musician. Our adjudicator, Paul Honey was treated to a wonderful mix of instruments and styles of music, from Baroque classics to music from the French impressionists. The standard was so high that Paul was faced with a very difficult decision, ending up with a joint award to Anna Gilbert and Lottie Sims. Congratulations to all who performed and we look forward to hearing more wonderful performances in future concerts.

Congratulations to this year’s winner, Natalie Wu in Form 3.

On Tuesday 11 February just before half-term, we were treated to a wonderful selection of performances by our outstanding musicians from the First to Third Form. The standard was very high and our adjudicator Muriel Daniels had a difficult task to choose a winner from amongst the wide range of styles and instruments offered. Natalie performed the Fantasie by Rossini and played with great panache and obvious enjoyment. Congratulations to all performers who braved the experience and we look forward to hearing you in future concerts and competitions.

Instrumental and Vocal Recital - Tuesday 26 January 2016

Tuesday 26 January saw an Instrumental and Vocal Recital, presenting a wide variety of performers ranging from Second Form to Upper Sixth. The evening included many singers providing an assortment of songs, including two unaccompanied folk songs, a Gilbert and Sullivan song and a Mendelssohn duet. The audience also enjoyed many instrumental pieces, performed on a selection of different instruments including the piano, oboe, clarinet and cello. Well done to all performers who, whether a regular performer or not, performed with great confidence and ability - an evening of musical entertainment was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
