Deborah attended the awards ceremony in Birmingham last term expecting to pick up the South West Coach of the Year but was shocked and delighted to be presented with the winner's trophy.

In 2008, after spending several years coaching at the University of Bath, she decided to set up her own local athletics club called Lavington Athletics (www.lavingtonathletics.com). The Club has two sections - the Minors Section for 5-9 year olds and the Main Section for older children and adults.

Apart from at her own club, Deborah regularly coaches at City of Salisbury AC, Marlborough Juniors AC and Appleford School. As a British Athletics qualified Field Official, she can also be found working in the Call Room at Birmingham at British and International athletics competitions. She is the Disability Committee officer on the Wiltshire Athletic Association Committee and is one of the Wiltshire Schools Team Managers for the Combined Events. Over the winter, she runs very popular circuit/fitness sessions for members of the public in Lavington School's Sports Hall. Outdoor training sessions take place at Dauntsey's Warrington site.
