County Schools' Cross Country Championships

On Saturday 14 January, 29 Dauntsey’s runners represented Kennet in the County Schools Cross-Country Championships, held at Sheldon School over a fast, relatively flat course. All of our runners put in a determined performance and completed their races against tough opposition.  Six of our team ran exceptionally well to finish in the top 10 and to win a place in the Wiltshire team; they have been invited to represent their county in the South-West Schools Championship in Truro early next month.

Will Morris was crowned County Schools Champion, storming home a good 20 seconds clear of his nearest rival, to finish 1st in the Junior Boys. Phe Phe Pye ran strongly to narrowly miss out on victory in the Minor Girls race, finishing 2nd. Elliot Lassiter finished 3rd in the Senior Boys, Ed Tabor came 7th in the Minor Boys, whilst Catriona Edington and Maddie George finished 6th and 10th respectively in the Inter Girls race.

Congratulations to all pupils involved.
