Paris Half Marathon 2017

A team of 17 pupils and 3 staff returned on Sunday 5 March from competing in the Paris Half Marathon, alongside nearly 40,000 other runners from all over the world.

Everyone enjoyed the incredible experience of running through the streets of Paris, encouraged by a great number of bands, entertainers and crowds of supporters - including 6 sets of Dauntsey's parents, who braved the wet, windy weather on a chilly Spring morning.

Results were excellent - even entering and embarking on such a challenge is impressive in itself, and our exhausted, happy finishers had every right to feel very proud of their achievements, particularly given the horrible running conditions.

Special mentions to James Herring and Georgia Woodward who came in as our first male and female finishers, with Georgia finishing third in her category and just outside the Dauntsey’s records. The whole group was fantastic throughout and one of the most appreciative and enthusiastic we have had to date.

As a team, we raised over £1,300 pounds for the school charity, Wiltshire Air Ambulance. A fantastic achievement!
