Dillon Dance Workshop
19 dancers from the Second Form to the Upper Sixth, took part in a 7-hour workshop with choreographer Shaun Dillon on Sunday 14 May.
Shaun studied contemporary dance and graduated from Roehampton University in 2012, and since then has created the short work 'TIDAL' on the ‘Lord of the Flies’ Legacy cast for London in collaboration with Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures and Re:Bourne. He has also worked with Flexus Dance Theatre, and Hofesh Shechter Dance Company. Shaun now has his own company ‘Dillon Dance’ who are based in London.
Shaun was so impressed with the talent of the Dauntsey’s students that his original plan of creating a 3-minute piece, turned into a full 9-minute choreography. The students worked incredibly hard, and had the opportunity to experience what it would be like to be part of a professional company for a day. They will be showcasing their hard work in a performance in the Summer Festival this year.
