Our Annual Manor Marathon

On a warm and sunny Sunday morning, around 30 Manorites and a number of brave parents and staff, gathered for an early start at Bath Abbey.

The challenge at hand was to cycle the 26+ miles back to The Manor in the annual ‘Manor Marathon’. Via the Kennet and Avon Canal, through Potterne, and back to The Manor, everyone made great progress with just a few punctures, a little saddle soreness, and one or two blisters!

Additionally, around 12 runners, including staff and parents, ran approximately 8.5 miles in relays back to The Manor from Sells Green. Several of our boys and girls (Harry, Arthur and Violet) ran the whole thing, as did Mr Gordon, Mrs Hopper and James Seager – an impressive effort.

By 1:00pm all the cyclists and runners were back at the House, ready to enjoy a lovely BBQ (and a few drinks) on the lawn at the front of The Manor…just as the heavens opened!

A big well done to all who took part in a great day all about teamwork, enthusiasm and determination. Many thanks to all parents involved for their support and help, and particularly to Miss McNichol for organising the event.
