Shooting for the England Team
Three pupils, Jacob McBride, Will Naylor and Nick Welch from Dauntsey’s School were selected to shoot for the England team in the British Schools Small Bore Shooting Association (BSSRA) home international match 2017.
This is an annual competition between schools from England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands with A, B, C and D teams of ten pupils competing from each country. All of the England teams performed extremely well and each team would have won the A team match with the scores they achieved.
Jacob McBride shot for the B team, Will Naylor and Nick Welch shot for the C team. All four England teams won their matches.
"Participating in shooting club is one of the highlights of my time at Dauntsey's; there is a great team spirit and we have a really supportive and motivating coach. I enjoy shooting regularly and competing against other schools. I especially enjoy competing in the Bisley BSSRA Winter Open. I am hoping to be considered for the England As or Bs next year". Nick Welch
