Barron Prize
Music Competition

The Barron Prize (the Music Competition for Sixth Form Instrumentalists) attracted a particularly large number of entrants this year, all of whom performed to an impressive standard. From the preliminary Heats, seven pupils were selected to perform in the Final Concert on Sunday 1^st March: Monica X. (piano), Olivia E. (flute), Veronica C. (piano), Charlotte H. (viola), Rebecca B. (flute), Matthew P. (piano) and Joshua D. (piano). The adjudicator, Mr Simon Clarkson, was most impressed by the level of musicianship displayed by all the soloists, and he nominated Rebecca as "Highly Commended" and declared the winner to be Joshua.
