Bill Frindall MBE

The School was saddened to hear of the recent death of Bill Frindall MBE. Bill was well known to millions of cricket lovers as the statistician and scorer for the Test Match Special commentary team on BBC Radio. He lived in Urchfont and was a great supporter of Dauntsey’s cricket. Not only did he sometimes watch our games, but he unveiled the new electronic scoreboard last year and also played in A.J.Palmer’s XI against the 1st XI, taking the wicket of skipper Jon Lodwick. He had spoken at previous fund-raising dinners and was due to speak at the dinner in March to raise funds for our forthcoming tour to the West Indies.

He was a true friend of Dauntsey’s cricket and will be greatly missed.
