Essay Writing Competition 2009
'Waiting'
The theme of this year's essay writing competition, organised by Mr Andrew Brown in the English Department, was illness and recovery: inspired by The Teenage Teenage Cancer Trust, this year's school's chosen charity.
The Sixth Form competition, which was optional, produced a record 20 entries - and each entry earned £10 for the school's charity. The task was to write a poem or short story entitled "Waiting". Congratulations to Sophie Collins who won the first prize, and to runners-up Rob Charters and Monika Frise.
