Pupils Pass Open University Modules
Congratulations to the 15 pupils (10 of whom are pictured above) who recently passed their Open University (OU) Modules. They have been awarded a Certificate of Completion and the points gained can be put towards an Open University degree.
The Open Universities Module Scheme was launched at Dauntsey's in 2008. It is an OU programme of study via their YASS Scheme (Young Applicants in Schools and Colleges Scheme) and it gives pupils an opportunity to study a subject which may enhance their A-Level studies, or a taste of a subject they might be interested in studying at university.
In May and June 2008, the above pupils registered for short (10 point) courses and completed them successfully. The subject topics available are wide and varied, and some of those chosen by our pupils included: 'Molecules', 'Medicines and Drugs', 'Psychology', 'Archaeology', 'Human Genetics' and 'Volcanoes, Earthquakes and Tsunamis'.
