Spotlight at the Manor
On the evening of Friday 16th January, Third Form day pupils and boarders gathered at the Manor for a game of 'Spotlight' in the darkness.
The aim of the game is for the players ('prisoners') to reach a designated safe zone, and drop their name in a bucket without being caught in the 'Spotlight'. Prisoners who achieve this successfully have then escaped. The prisoners, dressed in warm dark clothing, were taken out of sight of the Manor before being released. The large spotlight, which was positioned on the Manor roof, was then switched on at irregular intervals, shining on the pupils below in an attempt to catch them moving or standing up in the beam as they approached the bucket. Any who were caught were then re-captured.
Three games were played throughout the evening, and pupils had great fun dodging the spotlight under the cover of darkness.. with the added camouflage of mud and dirt!
