Valentine's Ball
Sixth Form Night at 'Moulin Rouge'
On Saturday 28th February, the 17 Club Committee, headed up by Amelia Barratt and supported by Mr Andy Hatcher, organised a memorable Sixth Form Valentine's Ball. The theme this year was 'Moulin Rouge' and pupils went to great lengths to dress accordingly: the boys looking dapper in black tie, and the girls fine in their glittering dresses. Most took advantage of the 3D windmill photoset, constructed by Mr Nick Spear, to have their photos taken by resident photographer, Jess Lee. The musical entertainment began with the ever-popular School Dance Band who performed a number of great numbers, accompanied on vocals by various pupils. A top disco from Brighton had been booked with a full lighting rig and, in keeping with the Moulin Rouge theme, a large screen projection of the film provided a superb backdrop thorughout the night. The djs ensured the dance floor was permanently packed, with revellers taking a break for a drink, or for a go on the 'bucking bronco' and the gladiator game. The evening was a great success and a credit to those who organised the event.
