English Schools National Hockey Cup 2010
The last week in January was a successful one for Dauntsey's hockey, with victories for the U14, U16 and U18 Teams in the County Rounds of the English Schools National Cup.
The U14s had a rollercoaster match at home against Warminster, a closely fought match which was clinched in the final four minutes. The U16s travelled to Marlborough College for their equivalent Cup match. Having conceded an early goal, the team recovered their composure to win comfortably in the end, 4-1. The U18s had to play two games in order to win through to the next round against Warminster School and Marlborough College. They achieved this with some well-disciplined and effective hockey, which led to 2-1 victories in both games.
It is a notable achievement for all three age groups to qualify for the next stage of the tournament. We wish the Teams good luck in the next three West Regional Finals which will be held at Millfield School throughout February.
