Fair Trade CompetitionThree First year pupils beat off other competitors to sweep up first and second (joint prizes) in the local 2010 Devizes Fair Trade Competition. As a Geography prep, students produced a piece of work relating to Fair Trade which was then entered in the competition. The students let their creative side shine through. Ceri created a cartoon strip which portrayed issues facing Fair Trade characters, Josie illustrated a poem setting out the benefits that Fair Trade brings to communities - both were named as joint runners up winning £5 each. Grace produced a magazine on Fair Trade full of facts, figures, viewpoints all packaged up in a fun and interesting way and was awarded first prize of £10. |
Peter Tolhurst (organiser of the competition) visited Dauntsey's on Friday 12th to reveal the winners and hand out prizes. The Geography Department does hope that if prize money is spent on sweets that they will be Fair Trade ones! |
