Manor Snow Days - 6th & 7th January 2010
Much to the delight of all Manor pupils they awoke on Weds 6th Jan to see the ground covered with a thick blanket of snow. The Head Master announced a snow day and after breakfast it was out into the white stuff.
The Manorites had a great morning of tobogganing and snowballing, as can been seen from the pictures. After a hearty lunch pupils ventured back into the snow for snowman building and of course more tobogganing. With temperatures well below freezing overnight, school was closed again on Thursday. With blue skies overhead the pupils ventured out for a local trek in the snow. Under the guidance of Houseparents, Mr. & Mrs. Messenger, the pupils walked up onto the plain to see stunning views of Lavington and beyond, it really was a winter wonderland. On the descent there was much snowballing and plenty of deep snow drifts to jump into. The majority of the Manor pupils returned covered from head to toe in snow. An open fire and a warm lunch greeted them. Fully revived, a good number of the House headed back to the toboggans, this time with the added bonus of using two large lorry tyre inner tubes, which had been dropped off by a parent. Mrs. Corke, Head of the Lower School came down to witness the fun and of course could not resist having a go in one of the tyres!
