Outward Bound Activities
The weekend of the 6th and 7th of February saw a number of Upper School pupils taking part in various outwardbound activities and public races.
The Devizes to Westminster squad entered the 'Waterside A' canoe race on Sunday 7th, as a precursor to the actual DW race which will take place over the Easter weekend. The race covers a total of 13.5 miles, from Great Bedwyn to Newbury, and includes 21 portages. Congratulations to all Dauntsey's paddlers, all of whom finished with very respectable times.
Also on Sunday, 19 pupils took part in the Longleat 10k race, an arduous and demanding running course on the famous Longleat Estate. Congratulations to all runners, and especially to Mr Alistair Sheffield who came third overall (out of a field of over 800 runners). The first pupils in were George Fisher for the boys and Rosie Wild for the girls.
The Ten Tors Team travelled to Dartmoor for a practice expedition in preparation for the actual event in the summer. The Team's orienteering and mountaineering skills were put to the test by poor visibility due to mist and fog.
