Pewsey Terminator
Congratulations to Mr Adam Reid and the eight pupils in the Dauntsey's Triathlon Squad for competing in the Pewsey Terminator Race on Sunday 28th February. The Terminator is a 12 mile multi-terrain race, climbing from the Vale of Pewsey up onto the Downs then back down again - four times! After all the recent rain the course was water-logged and knee deep in mud in many places, so conditions were very tough indeed - two steps forward and one step back at times - and the river crossing a mile from the end was waist deep!
The Dauntsey's pupils were by far and away the youngest competing - certainly the only teenagers on the course - and even just finishingwas a major achievement. Alex Newman and George Gurney put in particularly fast times, and Nick Hart deserves special commendation as, despite collapsing and having to be revived by a Mars Bar at the top of one of the big climbs, he pushed on to the end - even though people were telling him to withdraw. Finally, congratulations also to Mr Adam Reid, for finishing just 40 seconds behind Chris Rhodes, who is a British level triathlete.
