Rugby and hockey season update

Rugby - Autumn 2013

Our rugby teams are enjoying a fine season and so far have notched up 50 wins, 28 losses and 4 draws with the 2nd XV, 3rd XV and U14B teams winning all of their matches.

The 1st XV are having a good season and have won 8 out of their 10 matches. Noteworthy results include their recent victory away at Bishop Wordsworth’s School, winning 11-8 in a very tight game. On Wednesday the team faced Sherborne in the Nat West Cup. Max Romer-Lee scored a fantastic try in the first half to make the score 10-all at half-time. The team put in a heroic effort in the second half leading 13-10 until the dying minutes when Sherborne went over the line to win the game 17-13.

Will Britton, Joshua Rice, George Costard, Tom Mutton and James Gardiner continue to be involved with Bath’s Rugby Academy.

Hockey - Autumn 2013

The girls’ hockey season has also been rewarding and successful, with our four senior teams winning 19 out of their 30 matches so far this term. The 1st XI have won 7 out of their 9 matches, and the 2nd XI 6 out of 10, whilst the U14As have won 5 of their 9 games so far. We have at least 12 players  involved with the county squads through the single system, and Patrick Gompels was recently been selected to captain the U16 Wessex Leopards regional side at the Futures Cup.
