Brecons Challenge 2009
On Sunday 27th June, 18 Lower Sixth Form pupils competed in pairs in the annual Dauntsey's Brecons Challenge competition in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales.
The event tests the pupils stamina and fitness: it starts with a 11.5km mountain walk/run, gaining a height of approximately 800m, followed by a 17.5km cycle ride, and finishes with a 7km paddle in k2 kayaks along the Brecon canal. Congratulations to all those who took part, and in particular to George Gurney and Rory Sherriff who were the overall winners with a time of 3:15:42. Rosie Wild and Georga Dymoke were the 1st Ladies Pair and came in at 3:40:45.
