Drama Success - Good News for two budding actors
Congratulations to two Drama pupils who have just heard some good news.
Jonathan Barnwell, in the Upper Sixth, has been offered a conditional place at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London on the BA Acting course starting in September. Daniel Craig, Orlando Bloom and Ewan McGregor are amongst the famous graduates of this popular course, and the competition was stiff, with over 4000 applicants for 24 places. Jonathan, one of the youngest to have made it on to the course, was put through his paces during the three stages of auditions, which included a gruelling three day residential audition.
Jonathan Roberts, in the Fifth Form, attended a National Youth Theatre (NYT) audition in London at Easter, and clearly impressed the judges with his monolouge from Rhinoseros by Ionesco. He has been offered a place on the summer residential course at the Laban Studios in Greenwich. Following the course, Jonathan hopes to be selected to become part of the acting body of NYT, which means he can audition for their productions in the future.
We wish them both every success.
