Primary Schools’ Cricket Festival
Dauntsey’s Sports Outreach
On Friday 19th June, the Dauntsey’s School Sports Outreach Programme staff organised yet another sports festival for youngsters from the local primary school community. The Cricket Festival involved 165 enthusiastic, and excited, budding young cricketers from nine primary schools; they made up 18 teams and participated in a multi-stage knockout tournament and a series of skills drills.
Congratulations to All Cannings Primary School who were declared the overall winners, and who were presented with the Outreach Trophy by the Head Master and Outreach Co-ordinator, Mr Shane Cloete.
This festival marked the end of the fifth year of the Dauntsey’s Sports Outreach Programme, in which Dauntsey’s sports staff visit ten local primary schools in the community once a week, throughout the academic year, for an hour’s coaching session.
