Dauntsey's 'Mock' General Election
On Thursday 6th May the School held their own General Election.
All seven selected candidates fought positive campaigns culminating in a 'Question Time' style debate chaired by Mr. Nigel Yates. There were 'Hustings' meetings, Election speeches and party political broadcasts too, all published on the School Intranet.
On the day voting took place online between 8am and 5pm. No voters were turned away and queues were not an issue at Dauntsey's ! The Head Master, acting as 'Returning Officer' announced the result only ten minutes after the end of voting.
A charismatic Mr Williams representing the Communist Party of Great Britain won the most votes on the day with Mr Tom Yeldon representing the Liberal Democrats in second place. The Conservatives and Official Monster Raving Loony Party battled it out for third place with Mr Josh Mastin-Lee just clinching it for the Conservatives.
