Salisbury Triathlon
On Sunday 15th May sixteen Dauntseians entered the Salisbury Traithlon. The race formed the culmination of three months of training for these triathlon novices, and they all proved themselves equal to the task of swimming 400 metres, cycling 19 miles, then running 5 miles. Particularly strong performances came from George Fisher, who finished sixteenth overall and first in his age group with an astonishing overall time of 01:26:50, and Kristen Roberts, who was the first junior lady with a time of 02:15:40. Lots of parental support and much-needed carbs boost at a celebratory meal afterwards made for a really great day, and one which may well have sowed the seeds for future triathlon success. The Dauntsey’s Triathlon squad has gone from strength to strength in the last four years, and this year’s results represent a significant step up in terms of performance and should lay the foundations for great things in years to come.
