Provence 2010Over half-term 25 Fourth Form pupils went off to Provence for five days of sizzling Geography. The itinerary included visits to the beautiful ancient settlements of Aix (once a hang out of Ernest Hemingway) and Avignon where the pupils learnt about the formation of underground limestone features in caves and studied the land use in the Camargue; a delta formed by the Rhone. They also enjoyed a boat trip in Cassis, the incredible Gorges du Verdon; second only in size to the Grand Canyon and a tour of a working chateau with a little produce sampling. |

Trips were interspersed with swimming in the Mediterranean, time on the beach, pedalos in the Gorges, swatting the odd mosquito, almost professional standard petanques, ten pin bowling, the trip quiz, dodge ball and tennis. A super way to hone one's geographical eye whilst relaxing and drinking in the French language and culture. Stand by for 2011! Please use this link to read more Academic News and Highlights. | |
