Religious Studies trip to India
DAY 4: It was much quieter at the Taj Mahal this morning and there was a chance for everyone to have their picture taken on Diana’s Bench.
We then visited the abandoned sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri on the way to Jaipur. This evening we went out to one of the most beautiful cinemas in the country to watch the latest Bollywood blockbuster, however we left at the interval - it being a three hour film!
Looking forward to visiting Amber Fort in the morning
DAY 5: Moving on from Mughal Emperors to Hindu Maharajahs most of our group took elephant rides up to Amber Fort whilst our intrepid photographer ran to take photo and videos from points along the way!
We explored the fort before walking back down to engage in the much anticipated activity of shopping! We were treated to explanations and demonstrations of block printing, gemstone grinding and carpet weaving and pupils were very keen to buy all manner of Christmas gifts.
After lunch we went to the City Palace, home to the present day Maharajah of Jaipur before yet another brief shopping expedition to end another fantastic day.
