Salisbury Triathlon
The Dauntsey's Triathlon squad, and their coach Mr Adam Reid, entered the Salisbury Triathlon on Sunday 16th May. The race, which had over 300 entrants, consisted of a 400m swim, 20 mile bike ride and a 5 mile run, and was definitely not for the fainthearted! This race was the culmination of four months of very intensive training and the pupils were the youngest competitors by far in an event which attracts some of the top triathletes in the south of England, with a number of Great Britain triathletes taking part as well.
The 'Dauntsey's Tri Squad' consisted of: Emily Dixon, George Combe, Andy Dyer, Barney Goodall, George Gurney, Nick Hart and Alex Newman. They should be duly proud of their achievement, particularly as they were ranked amongst the Top Ten in their age category (Male and Female Under 20). Special congratulations go to George Gurney, whose time of 01:37:53 secured him the position of 2nd in class (Male under 20).
