    Service of Confirmation

    Salisbury-Confirmation.jpg

On Saturday 15th May, fifteen Dauntseys pupils joined with others from throughout the diocese of Salisbury for a service of confirmation in Salisbury Cathedral. This event was the culmination of much thought and prayer along with a period of preparation classes with the Chaplain that also included an overnight retreat earlier in May.

The Bishop of Salisbury, the Rt Revd David Stancliffe, is stepping down in July and this was his penultimate confirmation service. There was a joyous sense of occasion in the Cathedral alongside the solemnity of 52 people making the promises that confirm their lifelong faith as Christians.

For the candidates who were baptised at the service, including two of our pupils, the dramatic act of baptism truly enacted dying to an old way of life and rising again to new life. Pupils and their parents described the day as being one the most memorable of their time at Dauntseys.

Please do speak to, or email, the Chaplain if you would like to learn more about confirmation or would like to join the preparation group for next year.
