U14 Netball Team Make School History

On Sunday 5 November the U14 netball team travelled to Swindon to take part in the County Tournament. The tournament comprised of a round robin competition with the Runners-up and Winners going through to represent the South West in the Regional Round in January.

The team got off to an exceptional start with confident wins over Braden Forest, Sheldon, St Edmund’s, Godolphin and St Mary’s and then faced their toughest opposition of the day, Marlborough College which was their penultimate game. Having drawn to them in the Mid Wilts Tournament, it was a similar match up with Dauntsey’s clinching a 7-8 win and with one game to go, their passage through to the next round was sealed. The girls finished with 7 wins from 7, going through as winners and making school history as the first Dauntsey’s team at U14 level to go through to the Regional Competition.

The team will travel to Bournemouth in January (exeat weekend) to take part in the next round.

Well done to the following squad members:
Maisie Arnold (Joint-Captain), Issie Burn (Joint-Captain), Olivia Carpenter, Lucy Crompton, Sophie Grant, Leah Hope, Virginia Jacobs, Serena O’Brien, Millie Reeve, Bea Watts.
