Welfare Fund

The Welfare Fund was established as a freestanding Charitable Trust, "to render assistance in necessitous cases by advice or financial grant to members of the Association and their families". The Trustees administering the Fund have been active now for over 50 years and have been able to help a number of people over the years; they are currently giving some financial assistance in one case. The Trustees now have the ability to help more people, if required. Anyone covered by the rule quoted above is invited to contact the Secretary or the Chairman (see below).

All applications are considered and all grants are made in complete confidence, and names and facts are never disclosed to anyone outside the Trustees. Additional funds are always welcomes to assist with this work, and for anyone considering a bequest to the Welfare Fund in a Will, a suitable wording would be:

"I give free of tax to the Old Dauntseians' Association Welfare Fund of Dauntsey's School, West Lavington, Wiltshire, the sum of £..............for the general purposes of the Fund and declare that receipt of the Fund's Treasurer or other proper Officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge".
